Happy Fall!!
Yesterday was the official first day of fall! I have finally fully embraced the season, and we celebrated it by going apple picking.
I was super sick on Thursday and Friday, so when I finally started feeling better, I definitely needed to get out of the house! We decided to go apple picking at our favorite local orchard, Blackman Homestead Farm in Lockport.
It was a typical fall day outside, overcast and chilly, so I made sure to bundle up in my finest fashions:
LOL just kidding, I looked like a total scrub. But who seriously wears good clothes to go pick apples? I was representin' my mom and brother's alma mater with my University of Buffalo hoodie!
Ladies and gentlemen, you are looking at 134 pounds of apples. Yeah, I know. But they weren't all for us, I swear. Two bags were for my parents and one was for his parents. But the other two are ours! I can't wait to peel and freeze them to use them throughout the year! We also make some pretty fantastic apple chips in our food dehydrator. They are awesome to snack on.
Blackman also sells cider, jams, pumpkins, squash, etc. It's a great one-stop shop for all of your fall needs! We've been going there for a few years now, and we will never go anywhere else for our apples.
Tons of pumpkins!
It was such a great morning! If you are going to visit Blackman, though, I would recommend going when they open because they get so busy! It was so packed when we got there around 11:00.
Is apple picking one of your fall traditions?
