Canalside
One of my favorite things about living in Buffalo is that you can be by the water in a matter of minutes. A few years ago, Buffalo's Canalside property was under-developed and under-utilized. Recently, they have been really putting a lot of time, effort, and money into our Canalside and it looks so gorgeous and is an amazing place to be in the summertime. This is my second recap of last week's excursions with Nicholas, Nick, and Chip. On Thursday, we all started the day at my favorite local coffee house, SPoT, and then headed towards the water.
I pretty much always get the same thing, a mango jet tea smoothie. It's basically heaven in a cup, especially on a hot day.
Hey Nick!
From there on we headed Canalside (check out their website, it's great for listing events and things to do around the area!)
Beautiful view of City Hall.
I wish all of these flowers could be in my garden!
They make me feel like such a shrimp!
From there on we decided to have lunch at The Liberty Hound. I had always heard amazing things about this restaurant, but haven't had the chance to visit until now!
The atmosphere was beautiful and the food was incredibly delicious.
Seriously, we couldn't have asked for a better view while eating lunch!
Okay, I was looking at their drink menu, and this one drink sounded amazing...except that it had alcohol in it. But I asked our server if I could get it without the rum and she said okay! This was fresh strawberries, blueberries, mint, lime juice, and club soda. I was obsessed...I need to make this at home! It was so refreshing.
I've recently become sort of obsessed with truffle fries (even though I hate mushrooms) so naturally I had to order them. These were really good and super garlicy, which I love. Very delicious!
I also ordered a panko chicken sandwich which I devoured before I took a picture, but trust me that it was super yummy.
