Personal Style: Little Blue Dress
Everyone has a few pieces in their wardrobe which make them feel fantastic. It could be a great top, a pair of jeans, a little black dress, but for me one of my favorite pieces is my little blue dress.
I wore this dress to my cousin's bridal shower on Saturday, and it's actually the first time I've worn it since my mom bought it for me last spring from Anthropologie. This is the perfect shirt dress- the hi-low hem and sash belt adds a bit of interest and whimsy to the outfit.
The hi-low hem, also lovingly known as the "mullet dress," was big last year, but I have noticed that a lot of dresses this year are still carrying on this trend.
Oh, and I forgot to mention one of my favorite things. It has pockets! I get so disappointed when I find a dress I like but it doesn't have pockets. Do you feel the same way? Why are pockets in a dress just so amazing?!
And let's talk about nude heels for a minute. If you don't have a pair of nude heels/flats, you need to buy a pair ASAP! They are great to wear with a dress that is super hard to match shoes with, such as bright colors, blues, browns, patterns, etc. The nude color of the shoe won't compete with the color or pattern of the dress and you could wear the same shoe with a million different outfits.
I just purchased these from DSW 2 weeks ago. They are the Jessica Simpson Oscar pump. If you haven't tried her line of shoes, you absolutely need to. As much as I love heels, I wear them only so often because my feet start to hurt pretty quickly, but every pair of Jessica Simpson heels I own are actually really comfortable. I wore these shoes for 4 hours straight walking around the bridal shower and my feet didn't hurt at all. Plus, they are really easy to walk in. I highly recommend her shoes!
