Personal Style: Baptism Chic
Man, this past weekend was all about babies! Saturday we had the gender reveal party that I just posted about, and then Sunday my friend Jessica and her husband flew back to Buffalo from Texas, where they live now, to have their son's baptism.
I was super excited because this was the first time that I was meeting the little guy, and I haven't seen Jessica since she was newly pregnant!
I had texted my mom that morning to see if there was a rule against wearing white to a baptism (I always consult my mother for fashion advise). She told me that just as long as I wasn't wearing white to a wedding, I should be good-to-go.
She bought me this dress from Anthropologie last year. Mmmmm, when I say, or even type the word Anthropologie, I do a little happy dance in my head. Like I mentioned before, Target and Anthro are my two absolute favorite stores, and when Anthro finally opened in the Galleria mall, I was in HEAVEN! I live in dresses in the summer, and Anthro dresses are so unique and pretty and always fit me like a glove. And bonus points if you can find an awesome dress in the clearance room! I know that their dresses are on the expensive side, but every dress that I have bought from there has been fantastic quality and still looks like new after a bunch of wears. I don't mind paying more for quality!
This dress was actually on clearance, which made it even more adorable. I tried to get some good pictures, but the camera decided to be a jerk, so iPhone pictures will have to do for now.
I love the black piping on the top! The fabric of the dress is cream courderoy, which make it a great dress for the cooler months. It's sleeveless, so I just added a simple black open front top so I wouldn't be too cold in the church.
Here is a shot of Jessica with her adorable baby boy and our little group of girlfriends. It's always so great to reconnet with the ladies!
