Forma Treatment with Maeve Aesthetics
Since I’m in my *cough* late 30’s, I keep telling myself that I’m going to take better care of my skin. Sure, I use SPF and cleanse and moisturize, but I feel like I could be doing so much more, you know?
On top of the daily preventative aging measures, I’ve been meaning to look into different treatments to help with the fine lines and wrinkles that we worry about as we grow older. A new injectables and skincare business recently opened up on Elmwood Avenue called Maeve Aesthetics, and the owner Amanda reached out to me and asked if I would like to come in for a treatment. She knew that I wasn’t into botox or injectables (yet, never say never) but she mentioned that she had this new treatment called Forma. Forma is a non-invasive procedure that promotes facial tightening and skin contouring.
According to the Maeve website, Forma is non-invasive radiofrequency medical grade heat technology that will penetrate prescribed energy beams to the deep layers of the face and neck in order to achieve fat melting and tissue contraction that will snatch your under chin, jawline, and cheek area. Additionally, the anti-aging effects continue for months following treatment, leaving the areas with more collagen made naturally by your body. There is no needle, no medication, and no pain associated with this treatment.
No needle and no pain to make my skin nice and tight? Sign me up! Amanda was such a doll and made me feel totally comfortable. Her place is absolutely beautiful, and I loved the fact that it didn’t feel like a doctor’s office. She started by showing me the machine and explaining what it did. I then laid back and she put a clear gel on my face for the procedure. Let me tell you, the Forma treatment was one of the most relaxing things I’ve ever had done. She started on the right side of my face, and used the wand of the machine to make circular motions on my skin. The wand omitted this heat which wasn’t uncomfortable at all, it felt SO nice, especially since it was really cold outside. The entire process took about 20 minutes, and there was no pain, just a little bit of redness from the heat which didn’t last very long. There is no downtime required, as Amanda told me that I could actually put makeup on right after if I wanted to. She recommends three or four treatments to start seeing long lasting results.
Maeve also offers injectable procedures such as lip flips and filler and you can contact them at 716-392-3610 to schedule a consultation or an appointment for a treatment.
Thank you so much Amanda for the wonderful experience!
