Summer Style from EcoTeeCo

Now more than ever, we are having an open dialogue about our carbon footprint and the steps that we can take to be kinder and gentler to our planet. The brand that I’m talking about today is bringing you conscious and ethically made and sourced clothing and accessories so that you can feel good about what you are wearing.

EcoTeeCo is a local company here in WNY that aims to raise consumer awareness of global issues that affect us all and promotes environmental responsibility while using ethically-made, eco-friendly, less toxic and sustainable apparel. They hope to inspire a social movement to respect and preserve the natural world and, in fact, with every purchase made they plant a tree. They’ve teamed up with One Tree Planted to support global reforestation.

How are they an ethically conscious company? Their apparel is made from alternative plant-based fibers such as organic cotton, bamboo, hemp, recycled, RPET, modal or an eco-blend.  These fibers require less pesticides which are derived from natural sources, less irrigation and less energy inputs.  This fabric is made using sustainable manufacturing processes, with low impact fiber reactive dyes, and their printing is done locally without the use of the common, harsh chemicals normally found in ink.

The two items that I’ve been wearing all summer have been the Copper Leaf-Style Earrings and the In The Buff Racerback Tank. These earrings have quickly become a favorite of mine and I’ve gotten so many compliments on them…plus they are super light, you won’t even know you are wearing them!
