BraVa! Western New York
Ever since I was young, it’s always been instilled in me the importance of donating to a worthy cause, whether it be money, canned goods, toys, winter coats, etc.
But there’s one donation item that is often overlooked which most women need on a daily basis.
Bras.
The YWCA is hosting the first annual BraVa! Western New York event this Friday, November 2nd from 5-8pm at The Atrium at 500 Seneca. BraVa! was created to raise awareness and donations for one of the most in-demand item for women in need – a bra. Bras can be very expensive, and many women must often choose between basic needs and buying a bra, which on average last less than one year.
The event will consist of a cocktail reception and silent auction. It will also feature spoken word and visual art, along with a commemorative program book. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased HERE and guests are asked to bring a bra to donate (new with tags; sizes D and larger are encouraged.)
Proceeds from all ticket sales, as well as proceeds from the silent auction and all bra donations, will benefit the women and girls served by YWCA Western New York!
