DIY Deco Mesh Wreath
I've never been much of a crafty DIY type of person. I wish that I could sew, or knit, or paint, but alas, I'm no Martha Stewart. But this weekend, a bunch of us gals got together to try our hands at making holiday deco mesh wreaths. My mother-in-law picked up all of the supplies at our local craft stores to make the wreaths. Here's what our table looked like...intimidating!
She also picked up the instructions. With a little bit of luck and a lotta bit of blood, sweat, and tears, this is what we were hoping that our wreaths were going to look like...
So pretty, right?
If you've ever made one of these, you know that it's not the simplest thing in the world to do, even though they claim that "beginners" can do it.
Here's one major tip. The mesh that you use to make the "poofs" of the wreath will get caught on everything, ESPECIALLY knit sweaters. DON'T WEAR YOUR FAVORITE GREY KNIT SWEATER WHILE MAKING THIS WREATH. The mesh will get caught on your sweater and pull out threads every time you try to make your "poofs."
We made Halloween and Fall wreaths, and, much to my surprise, I definitely gave Martha Stewart a run for her money with this spooky Halloween wreath. How adorable is this?
And here's all of us with our finished wreaths! We are SO proud of ourselves!
If you are looking for instructions on how to make these, there are tons of them online. Here's one that I found to get you started!
