A few weeks ago I had wrote a post about the Oxford Pennant Pop-Up…and it’s finally open!

With the help of Fern Croft, the entire store has been transformed into a beautiful wonderland full of succulents, air plants, ferns, moss, and everything in between.  Everywhere you look, there is something new to explore…it is totally magical!  And, a fun fact, all of these plants are for sale.  I picked up a lovely wooden air planter which looks perfect in my office…and I haven’t killed the air plant yet, which is a miracle!

Among the beautiful flora, Oxford Pennant is also selling carefully hand-picked items that are incredibly unique and a gardener’s dream…watering cans, hanging planters, gardening gloves, etc. But for those of us who were not blessed with that green thumb, they also sell pieces that are perfect for us fashionable folks…sunglasses, Oxford Pennant tees, and my personal favorite, these “Stay Lucky” and “Raise Hell” cuff bracelets.  So cute!

I wish that I had a magnetic wall in my house so I could fill them with these magnetic air planters! Don’t these look like little pineapples?

You are also able to purchase their pennants as well, which you could previously only purchase on their website.  I pretty much wanted to take every single one home with me.

Thank you so much Oxford for letting me have a sneak peek before the doors opened…the store looks amazing!

If you are local in the WNY area, or if you want to take a trip in to town to check this out, you can find their pop-up at 43 W. Tupper in Buffalo.  The Victory Gardens is open from 12-8pm Monday-Saturday until July 3rd.  Get in before it’s gone!

Oxford Pennant Spring Pop-Up

Okay, so I have a confession to make.

I’m kind of, sorta, completely, utterly obsessed with Oxford Pennant.  Seriously, this past year, EVERYONE received Oxford pennants from me as gifts.  Best. Ever.

Last year, Oxford created a pop-up shop called The Victory Gardens in December.  I actually wrote a blog post about it which you can find HERE.

For those of you who were able to attend their Holiday pop-up, you remember how incredible it was, right?  Such amazing pieces that were perfect for anyone on your gift list.

But hold up.  Next weekend, Oxford is REOPENING THE VICTORY GARDENS! *cue the heavenly music*  Their Spring pop-up grand re-opening is Saturday, May 20th from 6-9:30pm, and will be running through July 3rd.  I have a little bit of insider intel, and from what I hear, the shop is going to look absolutely beautiful!

Hope to see you there!

I have noticed that recently, especially with the Holiday season, pop-up shops are becoming increasingly more popular.  Most pop-ups last a weekend or two, but the ever-wonderful Oxford Pennant has blessed us with a month-long pop-up called The Victory Gardens.

The Victory Gardens is located at Oxford Pennant’s shop on West Tupper in the city and runs through January 1st.  I had the chance to finally stop in a check out the shop this past weekend, and it’s EVERYTHING.

Not only do they have some of their amazing pennants for sale, they carry some unique items from brands such as Pendleton, Juniper Ridge, Mollyjogger and even custom Hudson Hockey sticks.

You can find The Victory Gardens at 43 West Tupper in Buffalo.  They are open all week from 12-8 through January 1st.

Make sure to check out their website for a full list of their hand-made pennants available for purchase.  I might have bought about 4 or 5 to give as gifts this year!

Two Guys Good Buys

 photo BE913257-DAB0-431D-8A11-EBE8113C7D47.jpg

How would you like to drop everything, hit the road and drive across the country buying up tons of vintage clothing and having the time of your life?

Sounds really enticing, doesn’t it.

Well, two local friends Tyler Annalora & Frank Fina did just that.  They started their Etsy shop Two Guys Good Buys in 2013 and it has grown into the trip of a lifetime.  I had the pleasure of meeting Tyler & Frank at their pop up at Ashker’s on Elmwood at the beginning of the month, and they are two of the nicest guys who really have  a passion for what they do.

They did the local thing for a while, hitting up flea markets and such, but soon decided that they wanted to do more.  They purchased a van that they converted into a camper, and in 2015 they departed on the ultimate road trip, purchasing vintage clothing and accessories along their travels.

The items that they purchase all have a purpose and have stood the test of time.  They gravitate towards brands like Patagonia, LL Bean, Ralph Lauren and Woolrich.  Items that have a great reputation and functionality.

I loved the way that they set up their shop.  Everything was so artfully placed and really spoke to who they are as people and what their business represents.

Luckily, I was able to purchase a few items for my husband who really appreciated the care and quality of these vintage finds.  I’m definitely looking forward to the next Two Guys Good Buys pop up.

Congrats on all of the success, Frank & Tyler, and make sure to check out their shop!

Queen City Fashion Week 2016

 photo 14434797_1087547474626008_4188784763712248645_o.jpg

I’m excited to say that after a few year’s hiatus, Fashion Week is BACK in Buffalo!  Last time Buffalo hosted their own Fashion Week was 2013…you can read one of my posts about the main runway show HERE!  Still one of my favorite events to date so I am hoping that this year’s will be just as exciting!

Queen City Fashion Week 2016 started this past Sunday with the Coronation Photoshoot, and the next event is happening tonight.  Join us at the For the Love of Fashion Industry Mixer at 6pm at the Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum.  There will be food, drinks, and some great speakers.

The Crown Runway Show is the main event which is happening on Thursday.  Tickets are still available and can be purchased HERE.  If you are interested in the fashion scene in Buffalo, you definitely won’t want to miss this show.  They have some amazing shops and designers lined up to show some of their best looks!

I’ll be at both events, so if you see me, stop me and say hayyyyyy!

Puccoon Raccoon

I first heard about the local business Puccoon Raccoon on the Jack Craft Fair’s Instagram account.  They had posted a photo of this unicorn necklace and I immediately died and knew that I had to have it.  I’m a huge unicorn lover as you can tell from my fabulous salt and pepper shakers here.

The woman behind these super whimsical pieces is named Jessica and she’s based out of Rochester, NY.

It was SO hard for me to settle on a specific one piece, since they were all so adorable, but when I saw my unicorn I knew that was it!

Make sure to check out her Etsy shop.  She also carries earrings, rings and more!  I can’t wait to buy another little guy…I think the sloth might need to come home with me next!

Upcoming Art Festivals

I’ve always been an artistic person…not so much in the painting or sculpting sense, but in theatre, music, and most currently, makeup artistry.  Since I’ve always been interested in the art scene, I’ve loved going to art shows for as long as I can remember.  Fortunately, Buffalo is a huge hub for all-things artistic.  We have three great art festivals coming up this month, and here’s all of the information that you need to know!

Jack Craft Fair:  Saturday, August 13th – Buffalo Central Terminal

The Jack Craft Fair is probably one of my favorite art festivals in Buffalo. The first time that I went was last year, and I purchased a ton of stuff. I love that this is more of a indie-craft fair with more eclectic artists.  Probably one of my favorite purchases was my gold T-Rex air planter from Prismatic Gardens.  I hope to add another one to my collection this year!

Here are some of my personal favorite vendors to look out for:  The Stitch Bitch, Trebird, Rusterior Designs, Prismatic Gardens, Pickled Punks, Kitch Studios,  Buffalo Cake Pops, West Side Stitchery

Lewiston Art Festival:  Saturday & Sunday, August 13th-14th – Center Street in Lewiston

It’s been a few years since I’ve been to the Lewiston Art Festival, but I remember it being fantastic.  Lewiston is a gorgeous place on it’s own, but add in over 200 artists and it’s a beautiful combination.  Definitely one not to miss!  You can find the festival map HERE.

Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts:  Saturday & Sunday, August 28th-29th – Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo

The Elmwood Art Fest is another favorite of mine…I never miss it!  I love the fact that not only can you shop the wonderful vendors lining the streets, but you can also listen to some amazing music on the different stages throughout the festival.  Beautiful weather, great art, fantastic music…what more could you ask for?

My favorite vendors to look out for:  Chuck Tingley, Vegetabowls, Ginametrical, Inkwell Studios, Alpine Made, Planet Love
