Beauty Product Review: Jeffree Star Liquid Lipstick

I’ve known about Jeffree Star since the good old days of Myspace and Livejournal (oh how I’m starting to date myself right now)

Since I’ve always been heavily into makeup, I really appreciate his avant-garde aesthetic. I wish that I could rock the glam looks that he does on a daily basis!

For those of you who don’t know, Jeffree has created a liquid lipstick line and I was fortunate enough to snag one recently…they are pretty much all sold out everywhere and I can’t wait until he restocks!

I ended up picking up the color Celebrity Skin, and I’m kind of in love with it. I’ve been on the hunt for a perfect nude matte lipstick for a while now, and so many of the ones that I’ve tried end up looking incredibly chalky on me.

I think what I love about this color is that it has a real brown/pink base to it, which gets rid of any chalkiness that would otherwise be present in a “true nude” on me.

As for the lasting power, it does pretty well!  The longest lasting liquid lipsticks that I’ve found are made by Kat Von D (those suckers don’t budge at all!) and while Jeffree Star’s lipstick will last quite a while, it will come off while eating or if you wipe your lips.  This doesn’t flake off or feel drying at all, which is a huge plus.

All in all I’m really happy with this and I can’t wait to pick up some more colors when they are in stock!

Below is a quick look that I did the other day featuring the lipstick…I wanted something simple and pretty, but a little smoky and sultry at the same time.
