Personal Style: Patterned Tights

Skirts are one of my favorite things to wear.  They are no fuss, you just throw them on with a cute top and you are good to go.  But living in Buffalo, it’s not smart to wear skirts all year-round unless I have something to protect my legs from freezing to death when I walk from my car into work every day.  And here’s where an awesome pair of tights comes into play.

I paired these fantastic sweater-tights with my new Joe Fresh lace skirt that I’m completely obsessed with.  Pattern mixing!  One of my favorite things to do.  Don’t be afraid to pattern-mix the hell out of a great pair of tights and a skirt.  The chevron pattern on the tights combined with the lace skirt works perfectly, because they are both neutral colors.  But keep in mind, this wouldn’t work if they were both completely odd colors, like a red skirt with an orange pair of tights.  No way, sister.  Keep it neutral and all will be well!

Check out a few patterned tights below that are on my wish list!

  1. I love to switch up my black tights with colorful and printed ones. The Limited Love graphic ones are so cute! I just got the big dot tights from J.Crew outlet and wore them for the first time to work the other day, and got SO many compliments on them! Next on my list are the J.Crew outlet bow tights. 🙂

  2. I love the whole outfit. I must get some ankle boots. I worked at the Limited in college. I haven’t been to one in years. I love those grey tights! Happy Wednesday!
