I’ve got two pieces of eye candy to show you today. This lovely pleated maxi dress and the even lovelier 1950 Cadillac. Gorgeous, right?
First let’s start with the dress. This is the very first maxi dress that I’ve EVER worn! I’ve always tried to get on the maxi bandwagon, but they were always either too short, too frumpy, or just looked hideous all around. But now I’m going to let you in on the little secret about this dress.
It’s a maternity dress.
Now now before you get all excited, I am NOT pregnant. But while browsing the clearance section at Target, I came upon this maxi dress that was so beautiful and decided to try it on and it was perfect! If you actually go on the Target website, there are some reviews for this dress from women who also bought this that aren’t pregnant, but couldn’t pass it up! The top of the dress is plain black short-sleeved, but I just layered my favorite chambray top over it for a little more of an interesting look. I love how it turned out.
Here’s a different lighting/perspective so you can see the detailing of the pleated skirt.
I’m so happy that I’m finally on the maxi dress train, because they are so comfortable, yet so stylish. And this one is finally long enough!
Now enough about the dress, let’s talk about the car.
This is our 1950 Cadillac. It was my grandfather’s, then my dad’s, and now it’s ours. And I can’t be any more excited! My dad has finally let us take hold of the legacy of the Caddy, and Nicholas can’t wait to start working on it. I have so many fond memories of cruising around in this giant boat of a car when I was a kid, and I can’t wait to ride around in it again. It’s in pretty good shape, just needs some pretty good TLC and she’ll be running like new again. To me, this car is an essential piece of summer.
