Personal Style: Pinspired Black & White

For today’s personal style post, I wanted to take two looks that I found on Pinterest and recreate them from my closet.

If you will remember from my Joe Fresh post, I gushed over how cute the crochet lace shorts were.  Well, I saw them in store, and bought them!  Now, the major problem I’m having is trying to style them.  What do I do when I have a style issue?  Turn to Pinterest, of course!

For look one, here is my Pinterest inspiration:

And here’s what I came up with:

white shorts 1

white shorts 2

white shorts 3

If I’m being honest, I’m still on the fence about these shorts.  This seems to me like the only way that I could really style them without it being overwhelming or looking out of place.  My one friend gave me the idea to try a chambray shirt or bring in a graphic tee/leather jacket with the tights to kind of mix hard and soft.  I will have to try those next. What do you think?  Have you found any cute outfit ideas that include lace shorts?

And for look two, here is my Pinterest inspiration:

And here’s my interpretation:

polka dot stripes 2

polka dot stripes 1

polka dot stripes 3

Now this outfit is definitely cute.  I would pair it with some brightly colored jewelry and a fun clutch and it would be the perfect summer date night look!

Here are both outfit details!

  1. I love both looks, but especially the shorts/tights!! You can definitely pull that off. What about trying with a peplum top?? I think a black peplum (especially with a coloured belt- imagine purple or mint?!?! OR LEOPARD) would be super cute to try out.

  2. YEP. Totes stealing the white lace shorts look. Also the polka dot skirt OMG.

A question. I’m going to a gender reveal party soon. I’m voting Girl, so I need pink. I think I could pair a pink top easiest with the polka dots, yes?
